Recruitment support businesses far bigger, longer established & infinitely more aggressive than Isotope fail miserably to identify the right entrepreneurial recruitment consultants.
But Why
Simple, there’s no blueprint. If there was then there’d be no risk, there’d be no need for experience & Isotope would be just one of millions of businesses providing an effective startup incubation model to ambitious recruitment consultants.
Look we’re old enough & uglier enough to know that what we need for a successful, enjoyable & long-lasting relationship is that unique combination of recruitment ability & enthusiasm coupled with genuine empathy for the market they’re in.
& that “criteria” is a two-way thing & so the 3 questions we would always look to answer as a team before partnering with a recruiter, are the same 3 questions we would expect you to apply to us when you speak, meet & get to know the team who are going to be so important in helping you do what you’re looking to do.

Question One
Do we genuinely understand why you are looking to start your own recruitment agency? In other words, do we “get it”. Have we seen similar motivations before within the clients we’re lucky enough to work with & as a result can we understand why, for you, this feels like the right next move. & do you feel that we actually care? That we actually want to know about what’s driving you, what’s motivating you to do this & what’s exciting you about the prospect?

Question Two
Do we genuinely understand why you are looking to start your own recruitment agency? In other words, do we “get it”. Have we seen similar motivations before within the clients we’re lucky enough to work with & as a result can we understand why, for you, this feels like the right next move. & do you feel that we actually care? That we actually want to know about what’s driving you, what’s motivating you to do this & what’s exciting you about the prospect?

Question Three
Might sound a little odd but the above two questions don’t really matter if the answer to this is not a resounding yes. An Isotope relationship is for a minimum of 4 years & that’s a heck of a long time to work with someone (or a business) if you don’t get on with them. Isotope know that the most successful relationships we’ve ever had are with those where we genuinely get on, where the rapport is strong & we all want to go above & beyond whatever contractually we might have all agreed to.
A personal touch
While the above may focus on the criteria Isotope work against when we’re working out whether we’re the right people to help this fantastic recruiter in their startup journey, they’re the same questions you ought to apply to us when you sit down & meet with the Isotope.
