Recruiters we all Start the same
Ah the quick fire question round of your recruitment startup journey. Think “Mastermind” but the questions are more personal, there’s no time limit & you’re not on national TV. Perhaps you need that added layer of reassurance around whether launching your own recruitment agency is the right step for you; or you’re so fixated on the idea that you want to just ensure you’re not being over-enthusiastic about the idea & perhaps missing something; or even you’re on-board with the idea but your family aren’t quite there just yet. What we hope is that the questions below act as a great prompt to encourage you to really stop & think about whether starting, developing & running your won recruitment agency is the right thing for you. Chances are you already know the answer to that question but who doesn’t like answering questions that you already know the answer to?

Question 1
Prompt: In other words are you currently responsible for the entire recruitment process. From candidate sourcing to client generation & everything in between.

Question 2
Prompt: In other words if you were to look at your current client base, as a percentage how many of those clients have been identified, managed & developed by you? Anything more than 70% we’d suggest is a great footing to feel ready for this exciting next step.

Question 3
Prompt: There’s really “right or wrong” answer here but history has shown us that recruiters that have seen more than 3-4 yearly cycles within their chosen market are able to navigate the ever changing landscape of business ownership more than others.

Question 4
Prompt: Nothing can fully prepare you for what starting your own agency from nothing feels like but if you’ve built a cold desk to two over the years for your employers, it certainly gives you an accurate insight into what it’ll feel like.

Question 5
Prompt: Funny question I know but what do they think? No doubt you’ll have chucked the idea past a client or two that you’ve worked with, heck they might have even asked you what’s stopped you doing this over the years. Professional acknowledgement is always a telling indication as to whether this is the right move for you.

Question 6
Prompt: In other words do you have the personal cash flow to support you & those around you while your business gets off the ground – the “baked bean” period as we like to call it between launch & those first few placements coming through the door. If not, perhaps Isotope can help?

Question 7
Prompt: Ah family; the reality check you never thought you needed. If you want an undiluted & honest assessment as to whether you’re ready to launch your own agency, ask your family. It’s also important to ensure that as a family unit, you’re ready for this huge professional change.

Question 8
Prompt: In other words do you have the personal cash flow to support you & those around you while your business gets off the ground – the “baked bean” period as we like to call it between launch & those first few placements coming through the door. If not, perhaps Isotope can help?

Question 9
Prompt: Why would I ever think about that?! I hear you exclaim. Well like everything you need to know how you get into it but also how you get out. There’s nothing wrong with having a Plan B (even though we all hope it’ll never be used).
