Welcome to Season 1, Episode 9 of The Recruitment Startup Subject Podcast with your host, Max Jones. The recruitment startup podcast fixated on understanding what makes a recruiter start & thrive in their own agency. Specifically focussed on understanding what brings entrepreneurial recruitment consultants to the point of starting their own agency.
From what made them finally “make the leap” to the challenges they have faced & how they have overcome them. If you’re an aspiring recruitment business owner, which I am sure you are, why not learn from those that have done what you’re going to do? Trodden the path you’ll take & overcome the challenges you’ll face – real-life recruiters, all on their own unique recruitment startup journeys but all with hurdles overcome, advice to share & a story to tell.
In this latest episode, we are joined by the very definition of recruitment startup growth – Chris Booth. Very early on in Chris’ recruitment journey, he knew that one day he would start & run his own recruitment agency. & then, just over 4 years ago – the timing felt right for Chris, after 8+ years of working in the recruitment market, to start & run his own recruitment agency. Now some of the members of the team here at Isotope have been fortunate to have known Chris for a very (very) long time & the business that he has been able to create over the last 4 years, but even still we learnt things in this episode that we didn’t know.
We touched upon so much but I suppose these are some of the ‘key areas’ we spoke about:
✔ The importance of partnerships & how, as the business grows & develops, so too do those partnerships.
✔ Why recruitment startup growth was so important to him & when he decided to change the very blueprint of the business he was creating
✔ The importance of flexibility; not only when it comes to your working day but when it also comes to the vision of your business. Business Ownership is a long & varied journey & therefore being able to adapt, change & reassess the direction of your recruitment startup is an important skill to have.
✔ The practicalities around HOW he started his own agency & HOW the support around that agency has allowed him to build Findrs to what it is today
✔ Why he ‘took the leap’ & the positive impact that has had on him, Beth (his wife) & their growing family.
✔ What recruitment startup growth looked liked for him & how he’s been able to implement that into his agency
