JR Veterinary was founded by Janko Salzwedel in the middle of 2020. After 6+ years working within the veterinary recruitment space, of which she spent the entirety of her time progressing ‘through the ranks’ with her previous employer, it felt like the right time to transition from exceptionally talented recruitment consultant to recruitment business owner. Focussing across the locum & perm’ veterinary market, this is her story.

They say once you start thinking about the idea of starting & running your own agency, it’s only a matter of time before you ‘make the leap’ & start building a business of your own.
Janko (or “Janks” to us) initially started exploring the idea of starting her own agency many (many) years prior to 2020. It had always been an idea that she had toyed with; rearing its head after yet another stella billing month, coming to the forefront of her mind after securing the business of another key client & becoming an all-consuming thought when she saw other exceptionally talented colleagues around her make that leap & start their own agencies. If they could do it, so could she!
Her conversations with key members of the Isotope team started in earnest a few years before the middle of 2020; a series of comprehensive phone calls, TEAMs calls & an inconspicuous meeting or two down in a well-known Exeter hotel exploring every facet of what Isotope had to offer her & her ambitions for her new agency. Could we support her lofty ambitions? Were Isotope going to be the right partners for her as her team grew? & did Isotope have a track record of supporting agencies within the veterinary market?
All questions that needed to be answered to ensure that we felt this was the right partnership for one another.
