CRS – this construction recruitment startup has recently celebrated their first year of trading. Established in April 2020 (yes, you read that right), Rosie stepped foot into her own recruitment agency after many years of growing & developing regions, desks & teams for other large corporates within the construction recruitment space.

As a recruitment business owner, you never ever really know what the first year of trading within a construction recruitment startup will bring; you have a gentle objective, a gentle vision, a gentle ideal as to where you might hope the business will be after it’s first year of trading but you never really ‘know’. After all, it’s all new, full of first times & first challenges that you can never really ‘plan for’.
Fortunately, Isotope have been on this journey many (many!) times over the years & therefore put great faith & trust in our “startup guts” when it comes to partnering with & supporting exceptional recruiters looking to start their own agencies – & Rosie is one of those exceptional recruiters. One of those recruiters that, internally, we always felt very confident in & very supportive of.
So as we all sit here today, looking back on the year just gone – honestly, we’re not surprised at the success that she has enjoyed. Opening the doors of CRS at the end of April 2020, temporary workers started working through the agency no later than May 2020 & then (through no exaggeration or hyperbole) the number of workers has increased week on week & month on month without fail.
There have been opportunities to physical grow the agency, a luxury that not many startups have within the first 0-18 months of trading; however for Rosie, her startup vision was different, for her she is driven by the desire to retain more of the financial pie (i.e take home more of what she bills!), the ability to have a better work/life balance (the opportunity to travel & have a business that allows her that flexibility) & the ability to be proud of the business that she is building (something she should have in bucket loads!).
& it’s safe to say, since April 2020 she has achieved this.
The last 12 months have been a true testament to the professionalism, commitment & resilience of Rosie who has spear-headed the geometric rise of CRS over the last year as it has not come without it challenges. Starting a business is tough in the best of climates, but to commit to starting a business in the middle of a global pandemic & the unpredictability that that brought (especially in those early months of 2020) & both surviving & thriving in the months & years coming out of it – is a genuine nod to both her recruitment capabilities but also her commitment to building a business that she can be proud of.
