Aura Education was founded by Jacqueline Edwards who, after nearly a decade in education recruitment, felt that it was right time for her to step out & launch her own agency. Having found her passion within the SEN space, the question around starting her own agency swiftly turned from “wouldn’t that be nice” to “when do we get started?”. After years of conversation, March 2023 came around & the journey for Aura Education began.

Looking Back
We often talk about how it takes years from that first conversation with Isotope about the idea of starting your own agency to then actually making the leap to launching that agency. In the case of Jacqueline, those initial conversations started quite literally years and years before we were all lucky enough to start working together.
You see Jacquis’ recruitment journey was very similar to so many venture out on their own; having come from the industry (working within the education setting for years prior), recruitment felt like the natural next step due to her love for the industry. When Isotope and her first discussed the idea, it was during her early progression within an established education agency. Having progressed so successfully throughout the ranks within the business, her mind was naturally wandering to the idea of building an agency for herself.
It is not uncommon for a recruiter within the education space to seriously contemplate the idea of launching an agency, it’s a market (as we all know) that requires a genuine passion and commitment to, to achieve real success. Jacqui was achieving some great things & the excitement around the prospect of building an agency in her own vision was something she’d been contemplating for years.
Her conversations with Isotope started as so many do – tentatively & cautiously, sounding out What a relationship would look like and how that would all work when she was ready. After a handful of serious conversations across evenings that spanned years, at the turn of 2023 the timing felt right. Personally she was always ready, with the support of friends and family around her & a financial runway to ensure that those first few months could be built in the way that she would want – but like so many that penultimate role, was the nail in the entrepreneurial coffin. She was tasked with turning a struggling branch around in a geography she knew so well & over an 18 month was able to do just that.
It was with that success, that she finally felt ready to take that wealth of knowledge and pour it into Aura Education. The back end of that first academic year was, like it is for so many, challenging but come September she began to hit her stride. As cliche as we know it sounds, the rest really is history.
