Success Story
Impactive IT was founded by Matt Nicholson in the latter months of 2020. Born out of an all-consuming philosophy about what a true recruitment partner ought to look like, after 8+ years of perfecting his craft across a number of agencies, Matt finally felt it was time to make the leap & launch his own agency. Focussing across the IT market (both on a contract & perm’ basis), this is his story.

Looking Back
Our conversations with Matt about his goals & ambitions for his own agency didn’t start just weeks before the launch of his own agency, oh no. They started one evening in November some 36 months prior, after Matt was referred to us by a previous client of ours.
It’s so often the case that conversations this important, this thorough & this personal span over months if not years, until the ‘startup stars’ align & it finally feels like the right time to launch your own agency.
In the case of Matt & Impactive IT, this was exactly the case. Matt, by his own admission, was not ready to launch his own agency back in 2017 & while he had certainly thought long & hard about the idea, with a few personal landmarks just yet to be hit – it just felt a little premature for him.
Did he feel professionally ready? Of course. But personally, the timing was just a little off.
& so, we agreed to keep close, talk frequently & ensure that whenever the time felt right, we were ready. Over the next few years Matt continued to master his craft, delving deeper into his market verticals (of which there were many) & take the opportunity to learn from those around him about what it really takes to start, build, manage & grow a perm’ & contract offering across the IT space.
Isotope knew the market, we knew the ambitions Matt held & what a successful recruitment company would look like for him & therefore when it came to “hitting the green button” & launching the business, we felt assured & confident in what we were all striving towards.
His journey so far, has been nothing short of exactly what we all hoped for – remarkable.
Support Areas
The IT industry is a broad & far-reaching market & therefore to suggest there is a “one size fits all” method to supporting an agency within the market, would be a little short sighted. Here are just some of the areas of support Isotope are lucky enough to work within LT Support across:

Good to Know
If Matt wasn’t an IT recruitment superstar, do you know where he’d be? Rubbing shoulders with Phil “The Power” Taylor at Alexandra Palace. An avid darts player, Matt has been known to secure many an opportunity for his contractors over a (fiercely competitive) game of darts.

Commentary
“IR35, Limited company contractors, umbrella terms, audit trails… you name it, the IT recruitment market demands one of the highest levels of compliance across the industry. & rightfully so. It’s part of the reason why we love working with recruiters across the space & the pleasures of working with Matt are no different. He’s ambitious, diligent, personal & empathetic – key traits that have attributed to the incredibly growth he’s seen within his agency over the last few years.”
